MECHANICAL CAD DRAUGHTSPERSON – FROME, SOMERSET

  • To ensure that all requested layouts are prepared for the engineering department/sales team within the time scale requirements.
  • Work closely with all team members and suppliers to ensure all details on layouts are accurate for their purpose.
  • Liaise with suppliers for information and communication for manufacture.

The Role:

  • To prepare CAD layouts using Autocad/Autodesk Inventor 3D, GA layouts, Plant Design Drawings, civils layouts, flow diagrams, pipework layouts, stairs and access layouts.
  • To be capable of communicating with suppliers for information and layouts
  • Have an understanding of BS standards for stairs, walkways, access platforms etc.  
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Be proficient in the use of Autocad/Autodesk Inventor 3D
  • Production of detailed manufacturing drawings complete with listings for materials i.e. steel, mechanical items etc.
  • Completion of all relevant documentations in line with BS1090 and ISO 9001
  • Working from an arrangement drawing or by measuring components etc.
  • Liaise with customers \ suppliers \ other members of staff to ensure feasibility and cost effectiveness of designs
  • Work with the Project Managers & Manufacturing Department on projects
  • Carry out site surveys when required and produce layout drawings
  • Visit to sites as and when required
  • Ensure drawings are reviewed and revised as necessary
  • Able to use Microsoft Office to include word, excel, outlook etc.
  • Must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
  • Any other request deemed reasonable by the Company commensurate with your role

DESIGN OFFICE MANAGER – FROME, SOMERSET

Purpose of post

With the guidance of Duo Group’s Chief Design Officer, and to a programme agreed with the DML Managing Director, efficiently and effectively direct the activities of DML’s Frome Design Office resources in producing Sales Office Drawings and detailed Design Drawings of DML’s products to support the commercial propositions presented to Duo Group’s customers.  Support the Operations Department with the timely release of design packages for procurement and manufacture to support the Project plan.  The post will require coordination with equivalent post at DML Roltech Stoke Design Office

Post will require:

  • Ability to interpret and direct the design and draughting of cost competitive customer project designs to support the commercial propositions for Duo Group’s customers
  • Ability to update and develop the project design cost database used by both the Frome Design Office.
  • High level of proficiency with 2D / 3D CAD - Autodesk Inventor and Advanced Steel and the ability to align outputs from these with the wider needs of DML
  • Exceptional internal and external communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop the skills resources of the Frome Design Offices to fully support the needs of DML and its customers.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Under the direction of MD, DML, for each site, compile a consistently formatted Project plan that will show and demonstrate:
  • Accurate interpretation of customer requirements in drawn form
  • Correctly costed estimates of design proposals
  • A detailed Project plan for the delivery of agreed contracted works won by DML Frome
  • Delivery of design packages for procurement and manufacture to the agreed programme
  • Successful performance of actual against estimated project outcomes
  • Contribution to Operational capabilities and cost down programmes
  • Issue progress reports as directed that show overall performance against project programmes and highlights/resolves constraints.

ADMINISTRATOR, SPARES PARTS AND SERVICE - COVENTRY

With a constant expanding market, we are looking for someone to join our team to assist with the administration of the Spare Parts and Service Division, as well as providing the opportunity to personally develop your key skills within the industry.

To provide excellent customer service by ensuring that all orders and deliveries are carried out within the required time frames, together with completing the relevant administration tasks.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Dealing with customer enquiries
  • Receive and process customer orders
  • Identify required spare parts from Manuals
  • Data entry of any required elements
  • Order processing and despatch of parts orders
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure delivery dates can be achieved in line with production capacity and logistics.
  • Complete the checking of all orders to ensure they are correct
  • Estimating and quote chasing using the CRM system
  • Processing reports
  • Enter supplier invoices into the SAP system
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Updating receipts and allocating cost to warranty claims and jobs
  • Raising of Purchase orders and inputting on equipment hire register
  • Assist with the off hire of equipment
  • Assist with arranging engineers’ accommodation and inputting on hotel register
  • General administrative duties
  • Assist colleagues with their workload when required. This may include other areas of the business

COMPETENCIES

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week 8.30 - 5.00 with a one hour lunch break each day.

SERVICE & MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS

As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, we require experienced, enthusiastic and highly self-motivated Service and Maintenance Engineers to complement our established and successful team. Our head office is based in Coventry with engineers working across the UK.

MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB:

  • Completing Service Calls & breakdowns to agreed timescales
  • Assisting with the requirements for plant installations in a timely manner
  • Health and Safety Legislation to ISO and good Housekeeping in all areas
  • The purpose of the role is to diagnose problems, maintain, repair and service heavy mobile and fixed plants, (Crushers, Screens, Conveyors, Water treatment Systems).

The role will involve:

  • Servicing and maintaining plant to a high standard
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing / maintenance of company equipment on and off site
  • Keeping service records up to date
  • Completion of all test certificates and associated paperwork

The right candidate will have:

  • Experience working as a workshop fitter, mobile plant fitter, mobile engineer, plant fitter, plant engineer, workshop technician, plant technician, vehicle mechanic, vehicle technician etc.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of mechanics, electrics and hydraulics
  • You will have previous experience working as a mobile plant engineer, plant fitter, plant technician or plant mechanic.
  • You will previously have worked on plant machinery such as excavators, dumpers, or heavy mechanical vehicles, crushing units, dry and wet screens, mixing pans and barrels,
  • You will hold an NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in plant maintenance or mechanical engineering. or time served apprenticeship
  • Air compressor units,
  • Pumps
  • Flexible and professional approach to all clients/customers

Qualifications

  • Relevant Engineering qualification
  • NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in plant maintenance or mechanical engineering
  • Vehicle Mechanics

Experience

  • Previous Service Engineer experience
  • Experience of servicing mining & construction equipment
  • The candidate will have all the relevant qualifications and a minimum of 1 years’ experience within the mechanical engineering industry with good knowledge in hydraulics, electrics and engines. (Experience working on shredders, Crushers and Screeners would be advantages but not essential).

INSTALLATION ENGINEERS - UK NATIONWIDE

MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB:

  • Carry out fabrication tasks involving welding, grinding and oxy acetylene cutting.
  • Accurately assessing the weight and point of balance of equipment/items to be lifted.
  • Carbon steel, screwed pipework installation, including brackets.
  • Fabrication onsite
  • Installation of steel structures and access platforms
  • MIG and TIG welder
  • Reading drawings and with or without a jig.
  • Be experienced in other processes, e.g. general machine tools, drills etc.
  • Installing water systems and piping
  • Reviewing and carryout - working at height during installation
  • Crushers, Screens, Filter Presses, Silos and Conveyor installations
  • Belt fitting, Belt Scrapers, Screen Mats - fitting
  • New and Retro Installations
  • Health and Safety Legislation to ISO and good Housekeeping in all areas
  • Nationwide coverage – Installations with the option of oversee Installations
