Wharfs are found by the sea and large rivers. The Sand and Gravel that is processed at these Wharfs has been dredged from the sea and in some cases the rivers. Although the material is generally clay free it needs washing to remove the Chloride, which will react if used in Concrete. In the UK there are a lot of sites along the River Thames with varying capacities between 500,000 and 1,000,000 tons per annum being processed.
DUO currently has Washing Plants working at CEMEX Angerstein Wharf, CEMEX Northfleet Wharf, Day Aggregates Murphy's Wharf and The Dudman Group Shoreham Wharf.
